Lads and Lasses around the World

Posted by Laura on Wednesday, 7 April 2010, at 16:20

New feature coming soon to Lymm.com

Ever reminisce about your childhood days in the playground and wondered what your class mates are doing now? Did the class clown ever make it as a Stand up Act, or star of the school play make it to the big screen? Or maybe that A* Science student went on to study medicine and is now out there saving lives?

Expatriates site development

Lymm.com is looking to develop a new interactive feature for the site, similar to the Lymm Interactive Map. We want to create a “Where are they now” database of expat profiles and plot on an interactive map, showing whereabouts in the world they’re living now. In much the same way, you will be able to browse/search through the featured profiles and see which classmates you can track down!

Contact Us

To get it started we need a handful of people and locations to plot on the map, so come on guys and gals, get involved! If you would like to be featured in Lads and Lasses around the World then please forward your information on to me. Alternatively, if you know of any expatriates, please forward this post on to them, thanks!

Google Street View on Lymm.com

Posted by Laura on Friday, 26 March 2010, at 11:51

The new interactive Lymm Map

Following on from our previous post regarding Google Street View, we have recently made some enhancements you may be interested in. The brand new Lymm Ineractive Map includes icons indicating various points of interest, be it Landmarks, Sports Clubs or Things to Do etc.

How it works

Simply click on the icons to toggle items on/off the map. Then click the icons on the map to find out more and observe the tabbed window that pops up for further information. Most icons now include a Street View window, whilst the Lymm TV icons also display the actual live streaming feed. Don't forget you can zoom in and out of the map and navigate the Street View by double clicking, or clicking and dragging on it. You can also make it full screen by clicking the little square at the top right of the Street View window.

It's pinpoint accurate

Whilst searching Google Street View generally places a marker to the nearest address using postcode data, we have painstakingly researched each and every latitude and longitude co-ordinate and and plotted them for every single location, allowing you to view a more accurate and precise details.

Now go play with the map!
